The Scituate Reservoir Watershed
The watershed extends through parts of Scituate, Glocester, Foster, Johnston and Cranston and supplies much of Rhode Island through Providence Water and wholesale systems.
Private-Well Conditions
Many homes outside public-water districts use fractured-bedrock wells. Iron, manganese, pH/corrosivity, sulfur odor, bacteria and nitrate are sensible conditions to evaluate based on the home and testing schedule.

Clear River Electric & Water District provides public water in Pascoag, Harrisville and Oakland-Mapleville. Homes outside public-water service may use private wells.
