What the Evaluation Includes
The $39.95 Private Well Water Evaluation is designed to document common water-quality conditions and the condition of visible residential water-treatment and well-tank equipment.
1. On-Site Water Quality
Field screening can include hardness, pH, iron, manganese, nitrate, nitrite, chlorine/free chlorine, turbidity/cloudiness, total dissolved solids and hydrogen sulfide/sulfur odor.
2. Treatment Equipment
We inspect visible treatment equipment such as softeners, filters, control valves, media tanks, brine tanks, UV systems and reverse osmosis equipment when present.
3. Well Tank Package
We inspect the well pressure tank and associated controls, gauge, tee package, visible fittings and leaks. The well pump itself is intentionally excluded.
We Listen to What You Are Experiencing
The inspection records homeowner observations such as hard water and scale, orange/brown staining, black staining, sulfur odor, cloudy water, low-pH/corrosive-water concerns, taste or odor complaints, and water-pressure or flow concerns.
When Laboratory Testing Is Necessary
On-site screening is useful for identifying common conditions, but it does not replace certified laboratory analysis when laboratory testing is required for health, regulatory or diagnostic purposes. Colonial can collect samples and works with a certified laboratory to analyze samples when necessary.
Your Completed Report
After the evaluation, you receive a completed inspection report showing field results, equipment findings, areas to monitor or service, recommendations, and any additional laboratory testing that should be considered.
